Firstly, let me say welcome to the Three Bird Fabrics blog! It's great to have you here.
I thought I would use my first post to let you know what on earth this is all about. What is Three Bird Fabrics? Why does it have a blog? And why would I want to read it?
Well, Three Bird Fabrics is soon to be an online haberdashery specialising in contemporary dress making fabrics, modern indie patterns and beautiful yarns and notions. All that the discerning modern sewer or knitter could need.
The ultimate goal of Three Bird Fabrics is to open a physical store. Somewhere, you can actually wonder into and immerse yourself in, somewhere to find that must have fabric or that perfect dress pattern, somewhere to join classes, learn new skills and meet people who love your craft as much as you do. The location of this place of wonders is yet to be determined but is likely to be in South Oxfordshire, UK. So, if you're from the area, and this is something that interests you, do sign up to our mailing list and we will keep you updated. Unfortunately, setting up a business isn't something that happens overnight so while we're all waiting for those gorgeous fabrics and yarns to turn up and inspire us, I will do my best to entertain and tempt you with the blog.
One aim of the blog is to provide you with information about whats happening here at Three Bird Fabrics. As soon as we get new fabrics, patterns and yarns in this is where you'll find out. So if you want to be the first to glimpse the new items as they arrive then watch this space and sign up to our newsletter. We will also be reviewing patterns we have available in store. The blog will show you what we've made and give suggestions on the best fabrics and notions to use to ensure you create a garment that you can't wait to show off. We'll be sharing some 'How to' guides and also some personal experiences, the good, the bad and the ugly, in the life of an enthusiastic crafter.
Now if that still isn't enough for you. Keep an eye on the blog and you may see the occasional competition or give away. Who doesn't want a bundle of the latest fabric or yarn arriving on their door step all wrapped up pretty and all for free?
